Wrestling Twitter FAQ: Goldberg, Bret Hart, and Chris Benoit

I've decided to create an FAQ where I take on some of the most frequently repeated topics on Wrestling Twitter.

There may be another on at some point, but for now let's go with these.

  • GOLDBERG: Is he good or bad? - GOLDBERG rules honestly, and when you say "He can't wrestle" I'd respond with "That literally doesn't matter."

What GOLDBERG does is more effective than most great matches and great wrestlers I've seen. He may be the best example in wrestling history of doing more with less, and I'm not mad about it.

  • Bret "The Hitman" Hart - He's fantastic in the ring, and a very believable promo. I think the biggest gulf here is between folks (like me) who grew up with him versus folks looking back at his work.

I think his work and aura holds up either way, but most of the "He's boring" crowd didn't experience him in his prime and I think that makes a difference.

  • Chris Benoit - He was one of my favorite wrestlers in the world right up until he murdered his wife, his son, and then skirted all responsibility.

I don't care if you want to watch his matches or whatever. I'm not judging you, but the idea that he should in some way, shape, or form ever be paid respect to is an utterly bizarre take that I can't wrap my head around.

Should the WWE induct him into their Hall of Fame? Absolutely not! That shouldn't even be a question. No company would honor that guy that way.

    It's an absurd question.
