As noted yesterday, I was not really fond of the idea of Roman Reigns or Seth Rollins winning the shot at Brock Lesnar's Universal Title at SummerSlam.
Regardless how I feel about that, Seth Rollins won the battle royal last night and will be taking on Lesnar.
While this isn't the direction I would go, I hope they have a specific direction in mind with it.
IF (if) the Brock cash-in at Extreme Rules was essentially a way to reboot Seth Rollins, it is probably worth it. Having Rollins earn a shot at Brock, and then having Rollins overcome The Beast Incarnate in a more straight-forward fashion than he did at WrestleMania 35 would be a good move.
Those are big IFs, but either way we've seen a fire from Seth at Extreme Rules, and Raw that was sorely lacking from most of his Universal Title run. Using Baron Corbin's End of Days on Becky Lynch, and then a Brock Lesnar cash-in isn't the worst way to reset Seth.
My only issue right now today is that as it relates to Brock Lesnar I am never convinced that WWE is going to do right by his opponent. For all we know, Seth gets made to look like a geek at SummerSlam while Brock vacations with the Universal Title again.
I sincerely hope that's not the play, but WWE has a track record of making their full-timers look like chumps against Brock.
Assuming we don't get another round of that, Seth Rollins can come out of SummerSlam as a much better Universal Champion than he was going into Extreme Rules. Only time will tell if that's going to happen though.
UPDATE: This is good stuff from Seth.
