Captain Marvel (2019) Review

While I don't really let reviews sway me (I LOVE Man Of Steel for example), I was a bit concerned about this film not living up to my expectations. Those concerns were unfounded as me and my wife both really enjoyed it.

I thought Brie Larson was really solid as Vers/Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers, and as always I enjoyed Samuel L. Jackson. Jude Law and Annette Bening were both excellent as well.

Somewhere...someone said that Ben Mendelsohn is always the same type of character in these comic book/Star Wars roles, and it's true. Thing is though I like him in those roles.

As mentioned in the video the de-aging technique they used on Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), and Coulson (Clark Gregg) was nowhere near as distracting as I feared it would be.

This one gets bonus points too for it's first after credit scene for reasons that are obvious when you see it (no spoilers here). The nostalgic aspect of setting this in the 90s works well too.

This was a really fun film that isn't like MCU Top 5 for me, but it's near the top of that next group probably. The little interaction we see with her and Thor in the Avengers: Endgame trailer 2 has me excited to see more of Captain Marvel as well.
