Three Favorite Canadian Wrestlers

The Rant With Ant Podcast Twitter account (@RantWithAnt) asked the other day who our Three Favorite Canadian Wrestlers were.

I have to admit I was a bit stumped.

Here's how I went though...
  1. Bret "The Hitman" Hart--Slam dunk, no question answer here. Was a big fan of Bret during his run on the top in WWE, and was very excited about him showing up in WCW even though that obviously played out poorly.

Have always liked Bret, and liked his more serious, no-nonsense vibe over Shawn Michaels' gimmick in WWE when they were on the top of the card together. I was always A Bret Guy in that scenario.

  2. "Rowdy" Roddy Piper--Not sure this one would have dawned on me had I not seen him mentioned already. I knew Piper was Canadian, but not sure it would have crossed my mind.

While I didn't see his great Georgia Championship Wrestling or Portland stuff, he was the perfect villain and then hero in WWE.

It's easy to forget because honestly his WCW run turned real corny, but his debut and initial run there was awesome. "Hot Rod" was incredibly cool during that run confronting Hollywood Hogan.

  3. Edge--Was embarrassed I couldn't come up with a third when Edge is the obvious choice.  Oddly enough I long thought he was overpushed, but his Rated-R Superstar run clicked for me, and I have been a HUGE fan ever since.

His forced early retirement was tremendously sad, but I'm glad to see he appears to be enjoying his post-wrestling life. Seems like a quality dude.

There they are...my Three Favorite Canadian Wrestlers. I would like to also thank all of the folks who suggested Kevin Owens might make my list. Y'all know me so well.
