Sad news in the world of Christian music as Third Day announced their farewell tour yesterday. I listen to a little bit of Christian music, but I'm not a HUGE fan of the genre. I am, however, a HUGE fan of Third Day.
I have seen them twice live, and the first performance may have been the absolute best live concert I have ever seen.
It's not exactly surprising that it's time for them to go their separate ways, but it's still kind of sad. They've been together for 25 years or so and have done it all. This Billboard article touches on all that far better than I will.
While sad to see them go their separate ways, I am excited to see what they will do. Mac Powell has already done some solo country music and his first album was really good (haven't heard the second yet).
Anyhow, I ramble, but my wife and I will try to make that show at the Fox in ATL. Would be great to see Third Day in their hometown one last time.
UPDATE: We purchased our tickets, and we will be at the Fabulous Fox Theatre for Third Day's last ATL show. It will be my daughter's first.
