The Thing About Kane

Seeing a lot of chatter about Kane "burying" young talent/the entire roster on Raw this week.  I am conflicted on the whole thing because there's actually a lot of different angles you need to consider here.

Let's take a look...

  • It is important to remember that no Raw is a self-contained story, and in this case they clearly seem to be building towards either Roman or BRAUN taking out Kane.

There's also the issue here that Kane could be very well starting his final run.  I think in that case you've got to give them a little leeway as well.

Either way, let things play out a bit.
  • The BIGGER issue here is that the concept of people being buried is completely overblown.  First off, a lot of folks on Wrestling Twitter fret about "credibility" far more than they should. I get why it's aggravating that a guy like Finn Balor got punked by Kane, but if you think he's ruined you're being overly dramatic.

The term BURIED or BURIAL is tossed around liberally, and it actually happens a very small fraction of the time.

  • Lastly, I'm actually not all that into the Kane deal either at this point, but it's important to keep perspective.  My issue is that it's just hard for me to buy Kane in that role anymore.  Like I said when he returned, it seems like the act very quickly becomes stale again.  So I totally get that aspect of it.

I like Kane, I respect Kane, but he just doesn't work for me as the monster anymore.  That does make him running roughshod over the roster a bit tiresome, but again you have to keep that in perspective and let it play out just a little bit.

Kane is a guy who deserves "one last run."  I hope that's what we are getting here, and I hope people can appreciate it for what it is.
