WWE Battleground Main Event: Shield Triple Threat for the WWE Championship

WWE Battleground is coming up in a few weeks and I am looking forward to the show a great deal.  Some of that has to do with the return of the currently suspended Roman Reigns.  The rest of it is that I think it will be a solid match, and I am not really sure where it is going.

I don't  think Dean Ambrose will leave Battleground with the title, but I am not entirely sure who walks out with the strap.

As always, I am no fantasy booker, but here's what I would do given our current circumstances.

Near the end of the match you have to have Roman Reigns right on the edge of winning the title when Dean Ambrose breaks up the pin.  At that point you have Rollins rally, and pin Dean to leave with the belt.

Why?  It's not to protect Roman Reigns.  I assure you that's not why I would book it that way.  I think it gives you an opportunity to fix some issues.
  1. It keeps Roman Reigns away from the title.  To me, the worst message you can send his detractors right now is that even after a suspension he is still unequivocally The Guy.
  2. It gives you the little spark you need to turn Roman heel.  Post-match or whenever, you have to have Roman Reigns obliterate Dean Ambrose.  While I don't really want to see that and I don't think the matches will be that great I like this idea because it gives Roman an opportunity to settle into a heel role that will fit him like a glove.

Raw added a little fuel to this with the way Dean supported his boy too.  After always being there for Roman, this will feel like the ultimate betrayal.

  3. It gives Seth Rollins an opportunity to take the strap and turn him face.  With Roman and Dean occupied with one another I'd let Seth leave as champion and embrace the fact that the fans want to rally behind Seth Rollins as a babyface.
So, there you have it.  When I floated this on Twitter I was asked, "Who does Rollins face?"  I have no idea.  This will be post split so I really have no idea, but that's one nice thing about the brand split.  It should give guys opportunities to shine.  We know that doesn't always work, but maybe it will this time.
