The A1 Cup is Underway

If you like tournaments there is currently one going on over on A1-Wrestling.com.  It's the A1 Cup and it's an annual tradition over there.

So, go over to A1, sign up for an account, and get to voting in matches such as...
  • Ivan Koloff vs Jake "The Snake" Roberts
  • Triple H vs Ivan Putski
  • Homicide vs Paul Orndorff
  • Shawn Michaels vs Junkyard Dog
  • "Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs Steve "Mongo" McMichael
If you're wondering about the criteria here is A1 poster and A1 Podcast member, Zandrax's explanation of the qualifying and seeding criteria.  It's a massive undertaking and he does a great job on it every year.  Anyhow, here's his criteria.

I am redoing the entries for the A1 Cup from the ground up. It will still be a 256 Men Single Elimination Tournament. The qualifications have changed a little bit, since world champions and Hall Of Fame entries have increased so much in the past few years.

Qualifying Credentials
Any WWE World Title (WWWF, WWF, WWE, World)
Intercontinental Title
Any US Title (NWA, WCW, WWE)
WCW World Title
NWA World Title from 1948-1991 (The glory days through WCW) then 2002-2007 (The TNA years) ONLY
AWA World Title
TNA World Title
All Japan Triple Crown
IWGP Heavyweight
ROH World Title
WWE Hall Of Fame

Non-Qualifying But Worth Points
WCW International (Big Gold Belt while WCW was separate from NWA)
Cruiserweight Title (WCW, WWE)
TV Title (NWA, WCW)
ECW Titles (World and TV)
NWA World Title (the "Dark Years" 1991-2002, 2007-Present)
Independent/Regional Titles
WWE/WCW Hardcore Title

Points will be alotted for title wins and lengths of reigns for ALL titles EXCEPT Independent, Cruiserweight, and Hardcore Titles, which will only be scored by title wins.

It's going to be a lot more star-studded this year. Eliminating the NWA "Dark Years" does eliminate guys like Chris Candido and Sabu, but it also eliminates guys like The Colorado Kid who would just lose first round anyway.
That's it.  Like I said before head over to A1-Wrestling.com, register, and vote.  It's just that easy.
