Happy 60th Birthday Jake "The Snake" Roberts

Jake "The Snake" Roberts, one of my favorite wrestlers ever, turned 60 today so happy birthday to him.  It's easy to see why a young fan such as myself was drawn to him.  For one, Dad liked him.  Secondly, he had a great look.  Thirdly, the DDT was a devastating move.  As an older fan I appreciate The Snake's ability to talk and his psychology as well, but as a young fan those were probably the three main reasons.

Speaking of the look I may be in the minority, but I liked the switch from the "karate pants" to the tights he wore in WWE.  To me, that was a much better look.  I failed to find a picture, but one pre-WWE he had that awesome DDT: Cruel But Fair t-shirt.  I seem to recall seeing an ad for it with him and Eddie Gilbert or Terry Taylor in it.  I'll see if I can track that down.

Anyhow, I'm glad to see that with Diamond Dallas Page's help that The Snake finally seems to be turning himself around.  It's amazing to think about how much more successful he could have been had he been free of his demons.

There's another reason I share this happy birthday and that my son has the same birthday.  Tomorrow I hope to have up the pictures of Bryant's Jake "The Snake" themed birthday party.  This party was SAW Approved.

UPDATE: Look at Jake's cake!
