Let's get one thing out of the way first. Going into Money In The Bank (MitB) I laid out the scenario where a John Cena WWE World Heavyweight Championship win would be palatable. Hopefully, that is still in play. Despite my dislike for John Cena I really enjoyed this show. I also have to add that I was indisposed for the Paige/Naomi and Sandow/Rose matches.
8-man Ladder match for the WWE World Title--Cena winning felt like a foregone conclusion unfortunately. The match didn't click with me as well as the contract MitB match. It was cool seeing the crowd react for Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt as well as they did. Having The Authority sitting ringside and watching was a nice touch especially since they didn't actually get involved.
6-man MitB Ladder match for the WWE World Title contract--Now this was a fun train wreck of a watch. The spot where Rollins bumped on the ladder that was bridged from the top rope to the big ladder was cool. As was the superplex of Rollins by Ambrose. Even RVD had a nice run early on where he cleared out the ring. Kofi is always a solid addition and the right guy became Mr. Money In The Bank. The problem was Kane's involvement. Some have argued that Kane's interference was an effective way to add heat to the Ambrose/Rollins feud. I disagree. It was completely unnecessary and only served to shift some of the focus to Kane and The Authority. Rollins and Ambrose don't need any fuel on this fire. Speaking of Ambrose the deal with his shoulder injury was awesome. Dean pleading with them to just "pop it back in" was phenomenal. Had he not even returned to the match he looked like a star.
The Usos vs The Wyatt Family for the World Tag Team Championship--Fun watch as is to be expected out of these two teams. I liked the new Wyatt Family theme more than the one they debuted on RAW last week. I was mildly surprised The Usos won, but completely fine with that. They are one of WWE's greatest reclamation projects in recent history by the way.
Rusev vs Big E--Another fun match between the two. I'm mildly surprised Big E hasn't been given a win at some point in this feud, but depending on their plans for Rusev I guess it makes sense. That apron spear spot concerns me every time I see it. The fact that they teased it earlier in the match was nice though.
Goldust and Stardust vs Rybaxel--Honestly, I remember nothing about this match aside from Curtis Axel's flea market wrestling gear which he ditched for the next night's RAW. The right team probably won although I like both.
Layla vs Summer Rae with Fandango as special referee--Fandango couldn't go wrong either way, but he chose the right one IMHO. I'm a big fan of Ms. Layla.
