Fandango Revolution

This is from Lords of Pain so it has to be taken with a huge grain of salt, but allegedly WWE is "very happy" with Fandango's sudden popularity. Marc Middleton shared this in the LoP article linked here:
Regarding internal reaction to Fandango's popularity this week, Vince McMahon and other officials are very happy with the way things have turned out. Fandango has been a "pet project" for Vince McMahon.
If true, this is interesting because many have expressed some concern that Fandango would become Zack Ryder. What does that mean? They simply mean that if he got too popular WWE might "de-push" him in a similar way they did with another recent IWC sensation, Zack Ryder.

There are two words in that quoted piece that make these situations different though. They are "pet project." Ryder's sin was that he got over on his own. In Fandango's case he was being pushed strongly including a debut win at WrestleMania 29 over "First Undisputed Champion" Chris Jericho.

Will the Fandango Revolution last? I'm not sure. It will definitely cool, but the future may still be much brighter for him than many feared when they initially heard of this gimmick for Johnny Curtis.
