Randy Orton returning soon?

According to this LoP article, Randy Orton is scheduled for World Heavyweight Championship match.  The SmackDown taping on September 18th will be at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA.  Orton will be the third competitor in a Triple Threat Match for the title with current champion Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio.

There are a couple of notes of interest here to me.

Randy Orton may not be an internet darling, but I will certainly be glad to see him back.  He is over with the live crowds and is a legitimate main eventer no matter how much some people try to argue this point.  Is he a draw?  I have no idea.  I tend to think he is, but arguing about it seems silly.  At this point, I think the WWE brand is the draw more than any one guy including John Cena.

Another aspect of this is that I hope they are leading to the Sheamus/Orton feud that I so desperately want to see.  My plan would no longer include Daniel Bryan or Mark Henry, but as long as we get heel Orton vs face Sheamus I'm not going to complain how they get there.

Lastly, and most importantly, The Wrestling Blogger TH from The Wrestling Blog will be able to see his favorite WWE Superstar, Randall Keith Orton.

  1. I can't wait until Randy returns either!

He is actually one of my favorite superstars to watch inside the ring.

Like you, in the minority I'm sure!
