Matt Hardy Update

I'm sure you have all heard by now, but our boy Matt Hardy has been busy in the last few days.  Not only has he been busy, he has kept local law enforcement on their toes as well.  The DWI arrest is old news of course.  What happened last night is really sad and inexplicable though.

Let's have Jason Powell of ProWrestling.net (DOT NET) fill you in on the happenings in North Carolina/OMEGA Land.

Matt Hardy says "goodbye world"

Former TNA wrestler Matt Hardy ran a new Youtube video tonight called "Goodbye." The video features the following words in graphic form:

"Goodbye, World... My time here is Almost complete... I only have a few hours & minutes... I loved you all... Regardless of how you felt about me... I'll miss you all... September 23, 1974 - August 31, 2011."
Sadly, I doubt any of us who read this story on DOT NET actually felt that Matt was a danger to himself. As self-destructive as the Hardys have become, I read that and immediately figured that this was just another internet, attention whoring tactic by Matt. Others, apparently not so cynical, felt that there may be some legitimacy to this video however.

Moore County police comment on Matt Hardy's suicide hoax
The Moore County police officer who went to Matt Hardy's home following a suicide hoax spoke with the Fayetteville Observer. "I shook his hand," Captain Henry Marion said, "and he told me everything was fine."
That article also notes that they received 25-30 911 calls on the matter of Matt's apparent suicidal tendencies. Wasting local law enforcement's time with your online shenanigans is sad and pathetic. I mean it's even more sad and pathetic than his typical, nonsensical online garbage.

How have his friends and loved ones responded? Not well, not well at all.

Cops show up at Jeff Hardy's house...
Beth Britt (Jeff's wife):"When the cops show up to our house at 11 pm for a 'suicide call' the f---ing joke is over (Matt Hardy)," Britt wrote. "Stop trying to work the internet."

Shane Helms: "Don't believe the hype" and then followed up by adding, "And please don't bash me for it. I didn't do it, had nothing to do with it."
Even his fellow "trampoline jumping goofballs" as Sean Morley might say, seem to be tired of the antics.

Finally we have Matt Hardy weighing-in on his antics.

Matt Hardy responds to the "suicide video" incident
The YouTube Video was not in any way a suicide note.. No words such as death, suicide, kill, heaven or hell were included-I wanted to see people's optimism or pessimism towards my words. It's pretty clear to me what their reaction was, and I needed one last attention grabber to let the World know that Matt Hardy has re-found his true self.
This dude is seriously delusional. I think Jason Powell, who can be hit-or-miss with me, sums it up really well in that last article linked.
That is so damning. He freely admits he did it for attention, but says he did it only to let us know he wasn't going to do it anymore. He has reached that point of delusion where you start working yourself.
If that ain't the truth. It's really sad to see what has become of a guy who was a big fan of during his V2.0 and Mattitude days. I can only hope that he regains his sanity, gets in shape, knocks of a lot of this internet trash and gets serious about being a professional wrestler again.

I won't hold my breath though.
