This is isn't the full spoilers for the episode, but just the most important one.
Randy Orton defeated Christian to become the new World Heavyweight Champion at tonight's SmackDown tapings from Orlando, Florida in the main event.
The match was made earlier in the night after Teddy Long let the fans decide Christian's opponent between Orton, The Great Khali and Mark Henry.
I'm not going to lose my mind over this like most of the IWC will, but I think it's a poor decision considering they made the right decision on Sunday. Now, I fully expected a run of only a month or so for Captain Charisma, but strapping Cena on Sunday against the Miz and then turning around and slapping the other world title on Orton on Tuesday/Friday seems a bit excessive. This is especially true when you had such a great moment with Christian finally winning the gold in the shadow of his best friend's retirement.
Another reason I'm keeping this in perspective is that I'm much higher on Orton than many on the 'net are. He's over, point blank. I don't agree with the way they are pushing him as Stone Cold RKO and I think he's booked "too strong" like Cena, but the guy is a franchise player. There's no shame in making him WHC. I simply think it was too soon.
Anyhow, we'll see where they go from here. I will admit hearing this news this morning was disappointing. If, for no other reason, I don't get to see the Christian/Mark Henry feud for the World Heavyweight Championship.
