Scaffold Matches

I remember thinking that Starrcade '86: Night of the Skywalkers was the greatest thing ever.  Now looking back, I realize how absolutely terrible scaffold matches are.  Now I could be somewhat biased by the fact that Dad severely injured himself when he fell off a scaffold, but I really don't think that's the case.  The reason I dislike them is that the action looks awkward and they are unnecessarily dangerous.  For example, legendary manager and malcontent, James E. Cornette famously blew out his knee in the aforementioned Skywalkers match.  (Never realized that Big Bubba (Ray Traylor) was supposed to catch Cornette there, but apparently he was.)

Check out this one that features USWA great "Idol" Eric Embry and The Rock 'n' Roll RPMs taking on The Fantastics and Steve Simpson from 1986.  Title of the video says it was from the Cotton Bowl, but in the comments it is noted that it's actually old  Texas Stadium. Video after the jump...
