Lex Luger and WWE's Wellness Policy

James Caldwell, PWTorch.com posted this recap of Lex Luger's interview on the Busted Open satellite radio show.

Luger intimated that he has been doing some work behind the scenes with WWE.  In his own words, he is working with the Superstars and Divas as it relates to "nutrition, wellness, exercise, and taking care of their bodies."  His experiences could be valuable to the current and next generation stars of the industry.  Luger addresses this directly:

"That’s another thing that WWE is being very proactive now with the Wellness Department and really train these guys with health and nutrition and drug prevention. We’re trying to prevent the young guys, this young generation of guys from going down the same path as we did back in the '80s and '90s," Luger said

First, I certainly hope that his insight can make a difference going forward in the industry. Secondly, it's really phenomenal to see "The Total Package" working in the industry again as his health has been suspect and personal life a wreck the last decade.

Here's an interesting note from this Bleacher Report article:
Kevin Nash said in a recent interview with Live Audio Wrestling that he had received an email stating that former WWE and WCW wrestler Lex Luger is back with WWE, as the head of the Wellness Policy.
If true, that makes Luger's currently involvement with WWE even more exciting.  As a long-time fan, it really is great seeing Lex Luger heading in the right direction.  I could not be happier for him.
